What makes TVET procurement different from school or degree lab buying?

How do you scope a TVET workshop?

- Task. List the practical tasks inside that standard. Each one implies specific equipment, consumables and often a specific machine capacity.

- Sign-off. Identify what evidence the assessor needs, and what the equipment must therefore produce or record. Some standards require measurable output, not just a completed task.

What safety provisions should a TVET tender include?
Specify guarding, isolation, extraction, PPE and supervision ratios in the tender itself rather than leaving them to the supplier. Arc welding, plasma cutting, grinding, woodworking machinery and live electrical practice each carry hazards that no classroom science equipment does.
At minimum, require each line item to state its guarding arrangement, its isolation and emergency-stop provision, the PPE required to operate it, and the maximum number of learners per supervising instructor.
